Today, we had the chance to hear about 2 subtopics of the great subject of Smart Energy:
1. "Incubating Smart Energy Ventures: An Investor Perspective"- Hutchison Kinrot by Roy Wiesner
Overview trends we see in energy start-ups, in terms of where the innovation lies (e.g. advanced materials, algorithms, engineering), the challenges they face and what we are looking for.
Roy Wiesner is CEO of Hutchison Kinrot, a technology incubator and seed investor in Cleantech ventures that is part of international conglomerate CK Hutchison Holdings Limited that operates in over 50 countries around the world.
He has extensive experience in deal-making, both as a lawyer acting for start-ups, corporates and funds, and as an investor. Roy was previously a corporate law partner at a leading Israeli law firm and prior to that worked for a large international law firm in New York and Hong Kong.
2. “Smart Mobility: Disruptive opportunities with Energy and Automotive players”- ENGIE by Anne Baer
Anne Baer, CEO of iKare Innovation, has 20+ years of proven results in facilitating strategic partnerships, joint innovation, R&D funding and investment sourcing, working alternatively at the private and public sectors.
Anne was the first appointed International Innovation expert to foster technology partnerships by the French Foreign Ministry to Israel.
iKare Innovation forges technological partnerships and facilitates venture investments in Israel on behalf of ENGIE and VALEO multinational groups.
